April MLB Contest!

10 days away & thought I’d gauge interest in resuming our mlb contests. 2 would be entire season deals, other would be monthly with an end of season bonus. Presenting 3 options, if you’re in please reply “in” & also your top 2 preferences in order.

Option 1-on RYP, season long team survivor, your selected team must win 50% or more of their games that week to advance, you may only use a team once. If a winner is crowned before end of season we could start up again if interest suffices. $100+$5 admin=$105 total

Option 2-on RYP, season long team scoring 0 to 13, each player is randomly assigned a team & the winner is first to have their team score every number of runs from 0 to 13. $100+$5 admin=$105 total

Option 3-on RX, monthly streak contest, players would submit 1 team per day to win straight up & same teams may be used multiple times. Longest winning streak from day 1 till last day wins the month, longest winning streak for the year wins year long side pot. $60 per month=$50 month pool+$5 end of season pool+$5 admin.

Open to other contest ideas and/or different contest $ amounts.

Another 13-run pool in has a kicker for 1st shutout and 1st team to score 13 gets paid also. A option to throw in there if you want

I’d love to do the old style contest @weenatl but i dont have the time to do the daily scoring/standings. Huge undertaking so these options are best i can do.

I’d be in for 1 & 3. I also prefer the old monthly style but realize it’s a lot of time.

Livin, Check out Officepooljunkie. Just found it and looks like we could do something close to the old style.

mlb isn’t open for setup yet but I went through the steps to setup an nba pick ‘‘em and you can select the length of the contest by number of weeks and set the number of picks required per week (can’t do per month). Weeks run monday through Sunday.

4 weeks @ 19 per week would get us 76 picks.

again, never used the site before but could be an option

maybe even do a one week ‘pre-season’ just to see how it goes.

either way I’ll be in if we get enough players

Hi Chauncey, If you can figure out how to do something similar to the monthlies we did here in the past I'd love to play. I love to handicap. Or should I say try to handicap.

I think you should reconsider this stance. The contests run here have always been run by and for the players. Moderators never get involved. The RX has nothing to do with our contests. They simply supply the platform for which I thank them.

It does appear theres a “pick um” option that incorporates a line/spread. Never used site before so will confirm once they get it going.

Apologies for the confusion but we haven't run any regular season pools yet for MLB, mainly due to issues around the volatility of the schedule. We simply can't guarantee a good experience with the high probability of rainouts moving games around.

Looks like that option is off for now
